Funding Success

The Calderdale Community Coaching Trust have been awarded a grant of over £9,800 from the Big Lottery fund for their Blender Bikes For All project.

The funding will enable us to purchase 3 smoothie bikes and a trailer to transport the equipment in and around Calderdale and staffing costs.

Participants then add fruit/juice into the blender and pedal until all fruit is smooth. We are going to use this equipment to go into schools/youth groups/HE/FE/ businesses.

To book a session with the bikes, please contact Chris Mitchell, the acting scheme manager on 07947 827627

BLENDER BIKES

Our new project is finally here. "Blender Bikes For All" are exercise bikes with blenders attached. Participants then use peddle power to blend the ingredients into a smoothie. These bikes will be taking to events in and around Calderdale. The funding has been sourced from< National Lottery’s” Big Lottery Fund”.

The bikes will also be taken to local schools, groups and community sports clubs.

Open Day success

Last Thursday, the Young @ Heart club held an open day at its base, the Supporters Bar at The Shay Stadium. Activities such as table tennis, new age kurling, Wii and various table top games were on offer as well as the usual tea, coffee and cakes. Our membership doubled with new participants turning up in an afternoon that was made a massive success.

This was also the first opportunity for our members to see the Duke of York award the committee collected last month. CCCT staff and the committee worked tirelessly throughout the day and thanks to the great feedback we received we hope to hold another one in the new year.

The Young @ Heart group meets every Thursday from 2pm to 4pm and it costs £2 a session to enjoy all our activities.  For more information on the group, please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
