New Walking Football funding

The Calderdale Community Coaching Trust are please to announce that we have received a grant from the Community Foundation For Calderdale to continue and grow our over 50s Walking Football. The activity takes place every Friday 11.30am at 3GI Soccer at Shay Lodge Mill. All newcomers welcome. Only £2 per person with refreshments included.

 

New Funding

We are please to announce we have received our year 3 funding from Streetgames for our All Stars cheer dance team. massive thanks to Streetgames for this and we look forward to show casing our dance team during 2016/17. The dance team meet every Tuesday at Calderdale College, 7pm til 8pm. All abilities welcome.

All Stars in Gala Parade

Our Streetgames funded All Stars here before performing in the Halifax Charity Gala procession. The girls danced through the streets of Halifax town centre upto Manor Heath where the girls mingled with the crowds giving away flyers for the group. We got 5 new dances on the back of the gala with girls of all abilities welcome to attend each Tuesday at Calderdale College, starting at 7pm.

Overgate Garden Party

We were at the Overgate Garden Party yesterday help to raise much needed funds for the hospice. If was packed with the bikes busy for 3 1/2 hours with us running out of fruit. A fantastic event once again featured a DJ, dances, a band and TV star, Lucy Jo Hudson.

Play Touch Rugby League

Our Play Touch competition started last week and runs for 20 weeks at Calderdale College. Players still needed for turn up and play teams. Only £2.50 per person and it starts at  6.30pm.

Calderdale Schools cup finals

The annual Calderdale Schools cup finals take place tonight at Calderdale College. The year 7 final is between Lightcliffe Academy and Brooksbank and the year 8 & 9 finals are both between Brooksbank and Rastrick. The competition is run throughout the winter months with over 300 boys participating with over 30 teams playing.

Sky Try Emerging 9's festival.

 

The CCCT are holding the 1st of what will be an annual event in our Sky Try emerging 9's festival. 11 teams are taking part in the 2 day event, which is being held at year 7 & 8 age groups. Schools attending are Sowerby Bridge, Todmorden, Halifax High, Ryburn, Lightcliffe Adacemy and Crossley Heath. Over 120 are expected to take part in the festival. 

New Sportivate Funding

We are please to announce another 2 activities will be funded by Sportivate. Block 2 of our Fax Fit Ladies sessions will be again held at Three Ways Sports Centre, Ovenden.

The sessions will start on 5th may and will last for 8 weeks. These sessions are open to females, aged from 12 to 25.

Our 2nd activity is Wheelchair Basketball, which will be run as an after school session at 4 local high schools. The participants from these sessions will be signposted to the newly formed Wheelchair sports club based at Calderdale College. 

Sky Try Rugby League 9's

The CCCT and Halifax RLFC are hosting our 1st 2 Sky Sky festivals for local schools on the 26th & 28th April at Calderdale College. 16 teams with over 150 participants are taking part. Photo's and news of the event will be published on this website.
