The CCCT are pleased to have restored the Stephen Pearson memorial shield to represent Rugby League success in Calderdale.  The original shield was lost due to unforeseen circumstances and even after extensive searches it was agreed to replace it.

Stephen Pearson, was a former Director and CEO of the Halifax RLFC who put together the package which saved the club from closure over 10 years ago. This was all during one of the worst periods in the clubs illustrious history when they got relegated from the Super League.  A Liberal Democrat councillor and former mayor of Calderdale, Stephen passed away at the end of 2003 and the memorial shield was created in his memory.

The Shield was presented to the Year 7 Calderdale School Rugby League final winners last Tuesday evening.  This was Brookesbank High Y7s and Jeniffer Pearson, Stephens widow, was on hand to present it on the day (pictured far left).  The CCCT will now take over the upkeep of the shield and ensure it continues to be presented to this age group each year.
