Our Play Touch Rugby League skills sessions begin on the 5th of March 2014 and will be held at the new 3Gi Soccer centre which is inn the Old Shaw Mill opposite the Shay Stadium. They will run for 4 weeks from 5.30pm to 6.30 pm and will include some small sided games as well as basic touch skills and rules of play. There is no past experience required for these skill sessions, just an enthusiasm to learn and have some fun. If you can manage to attend more than once you will receive a free Play Touch Rugby League branded water bottle and a Halifax RLFC match ticket. We can also offer you support in registering online to our Savile Park Touch competition on www.playtouchrugbyleague.co.uk using the BOOK NOW feature or just register your interest.
CCCT staff Frank Watene and Chris Mitchell will be heading up the skills sessions and the competition, so look out for them both if you have any questions regarding Play Touch RL. Both were the driving force behind last years successful Charity touch competition, which saw the final played into extra time and eventually being won by the 'Odds n Ends' team, captained by Steve Shearne. Both finalists including runners up the GBA Care touch team have already expressed their interest in playing again this year. I'm sure GBA team captain Chris Kershaw will be out for revenge and will be bringing down a side to compete for the trophy.
If you have never played and want to try it out before registering yourself or your team for the Calderdale Touch competition in April then please consider popping down to our taster sessions.
